Message From The President
Kory Kirk-Golf Course Superintendent-The Summit Club
As the president of the Southern Nevada Golf Course Superintendents Association, I am proud to reflect on our achievements and challenges over the past year. Our commitment to sustainable practices remains unwavering, particularly in our use of recycled water for irrigation, a practice that is crucial in the arid climate of the southwestern United States. We understand the importance of public health protection and have been vigilant in maintaining the highest standards possible.
Looking ahead, we anticipate continued work towards optimizing turfgrass management in a way that balances performance with environmental stewardship, an approach highlighted in the Pest Management Strategic Plan for Turfgrass. The SNGCSA is also cognizant of the evolving land use issues surrounding golf courses, and we expect to engage proactively with community members and stakeholders to ensure that our presence aligns with broader societal and environmental objectives.
In summary, the SNGCSA remains dedicated to leading the way in innovative, responsible golf course management. Through continuous education, collaboration, and a forward-looking mindset, we are poised to address the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead in the coming year.
